MemberI love to create my own class! To teach a subject that I think my students need to leran. I´ve worked in differents languages schools and I saw how bored the students were just learning standard english. Some of them give up, because it is always the same things to study. I guess that I conversation with your partener and students can help you to create a nice class.

MemberTeaching english only if you are a native speaker.
Standard English for grammar and pronunciation.
Proficiency means sounding like a native speaker.Alex Ferreira
MemberMy teaching context is based in a curriculum from the secretary. We choose the subject and how to teach it for the students. We also can create our own test.

MemberI agree with the points that Rana, Nilda and Ayah were talking about. I don`t think that the texbooks are enough to test our knowlegde! Of course, the textbooks helps us a lot, but there are others tools.

MemberIn my first classes I always start the class telling to my students that learning english is hard. It isn`t a thing that you gonna study at the moment and will remember of it forever, you have to practice and challenge yourself!

MemberI always talk to my students to know what are their goals, what they are thinking of our classes.

Memberwhat ‘proficiency’ means, given that learners inevitably construct their own English;
~ In my opinion, proficiency would be the ability, and skill that the student develops his idea and grammar during a conversation. As teachers we could help them with the mistaked that they did.Alex Ferreira
MemberSome language school penalizes the learners just because they are L1. And, in my opinion they shouldn`t be penalized.

MemberThe video is very interesting. It explained this complex concept in a very efficient way! I agree with all the thins, it`s better to learn and practice at the same time. These two processes must parallel side by side.
